– The partners were enthusiastic about the meeting, aimed at strengthening intercooperation, said project leader Arvid Wangberg.

For the second time the HEPRO partners met, this time in the Lithuanian city of Alytus. The meeting was organised in cooperation with the Alytus City Municipality. Mr. Vytautas Kirkliauskas. Major of Alytus, opened the meeting. He emphasised the important role HEPRO project can play for Alytus, as factors such as health, well-being and quality of life are vital in order to create a more competitive and attractive municipality.

– During the meeting several topics were raised that we worked with, said project leader Arvid Wangberg.

The first topic was public health work and planning processes in areas defined as milestone 2. Secondly, the meeting decided upon the the content and actions of the health survey that will be handed out to 27 000 inhabitants in the Baltic Sea region in September and October 2006. In addition, the SWOT-analyses will give additional knowledge and information.

– The partners were entusiastic about the meeting, aimed at strengthening intercooperation among the partners, For projects with many partners, these meetings are important forums in order to learn from each other and strengthen the transnational networks, said Wangberg. The partners will meet again in November 2006 as Østfold in Norway host a similar meeting.
