Projects carried out under the umbrella Hepro Community must all be seen in the context of the WHO Healthy Cities.

The WHO Healthy Cities project is a global movement. It engages local governments in health development through a process of political commitment, institutional change, capacity-building, partnership-based planning and innovative projects.

The projects seek to meet the objectives of the various phases of this movement.

The overarching theme for Phase V (2009 – 2013) is health and health equity in all local policies.
